Two new exhibitions opened at HúsavÃk Museum last weekend. In the art gallery on the top floor is an exhibition by local artist Ragna Hermannsdóttir from Bárðardalur, born in 1924. Ragna, who studied art in Iceland and in the Netherlands, gave most of her works to the Museum in 2008. Her exhibition is both colorful and powerful.
In the photo gallery on the ground floor is an exhibition of photos of the houses of HúsavÃk through the years. The photos are from HúsavÃk Museum Collection. With the photos are maps of HúsavÃk and plans of how the town should grow. Arnþrúður Dagsdóttir is the curator of Ragna’s exhibition in the art gallery and Arnhildur Pálmadóttir curates the photo exhibition on the ground floor.
